About Chris

Hi! I’m Chris Edes, and I’m running for Commissioner of Schools, also known as the City School Board. Here is some information about me.

I was born in the City of Rochester, have lived here for the last 22 years, and currently reside downtown on Water Street. For the past 17 years I’ve pursued a career in information technology, and currently find employment at Datto, located downtown in the Metropolitan building.

Since 2005, I’ve been working to build a viable alternative for people who believe the two party system has failed to provide adequate choices for representation in public office. I founded the Monroe County Libertarian Party in 2007 and served as its Chair for five years. At the same time, I served on the Steering Committee of the Green Party of Monroe County from 2011 through 2013.  I am presently Chair of the Green Party of Monroe County.

People of many different beliefs and backgrounds support me. I believe this is because I have a sincere desire to make our community a better place.

This year, I’m running for City School Board, as the Green Party candidate. I have some new ideas I think you’ll like.

I believe our government should work for the people, rather than the well-off and well-connected. We have the power to make that happen if we choose. If you’d like to find out more, please join us.
